The Challenge & Goal

A Case Study in Modern Apartment Interior Design in Dubai

The primary challenge in this modern apartment interior design in Dubai was the height difference between the living room windows, which threatened to disrupt the visual harmony of the space. The lower ceiling level on one side created a significant design obstacle. Our goal was to seamlessly integrate a solution that would not only hide this variation but also enhance the room’s aesthetic. Additionally, we were tasked with incorporating the client’s existing furniture and preferred color palette—including shades of green, emerald, brown, and beige—into a cohesive and stylish new design, creating a space that felt both bespoke and welcoming.

Details & Features

This 250-square-meter apartment in Madinat Jumeirah showcases a refined blend of personalization and modern design. The ambient lighting was a key element of our approach, creating a cozy and intimate feel throughout the home. A stunning wing-shaped accent wall, inspired by the client’s furniture and finishes, was created opposite the entrance to serve as a dramatic focal point. For the balcony, we selected wooden flooring and comfortable furniture made from African Iroko wood, complemented by ambient string lights to craft an intimate and warm outdoor retreat. Although some of the client’s pre-purchased items, such as the chandeliers, presented a design constraint, we enhanced the space by adding modern, linear ceiling lighting, which provided a contemporary and clean finish. The final result is a personalized luxury apartment in Dubai that perfectly combines aesthetics with smart, problem-solving design.

Our Approach & Solution

We adopted a modern and somewhat minimal design style, focusing on creating a serene atmosphere through carefully curated elements. To solve the window height issue, we designed and installed a false wall with an elegant arched shape. This architectural element not only concealed the height difference but also became a striking feature in the living area, creating a seamless and sophisticated look. Our approach involved a personalized process where we worked directly with the client’s existing furniture, integrating each piece—from the bar cabinet to the lighting fixtures—into the overall concept. For the bar cabinet, we complemented it with custom shelving and wall-mounted cabinets, balancing its proportions and giving it a new, functional identity.
